The Columbus City Council approved the speed reduction proposed by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Monday night.
As a result of the approval, you can expect a major slowdown on Interstates 70 and 71 near downtown Columbus.
ODOT tells us that the new signs, changing speed limits from 65 to 55 miles per hour, will be posted in July.
Officials say the new design of the interchange reconstruction project led to the speed change.
