A new library in Hilliard is providing already adapted toys for children with special needs.

Heather Bennett and her husband opened Katelyn's Kloset Adapted Toy Library in honor of their 16-month old daughter who has spina bifida.

Bennett said she and her husband know how hard it is for a family to get their child a specially made toy. She said it can cost five to 10 times more for a family to have that toy adapted.

"Having a child with medical challenges is really expensive," Bennett said. "The medical costs can really strap a family."

OSU engineering students and local high school students helped adapt the toys with special switches and buttons.

Katelyn's Kloset is located at Easter Seals Central and Southeast Ohio at 3830 Trueman Court in Hilliard.
