VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A video showing a man climbing a pole in order to fix an American flag has gone viral.

WTKR reports that Dom Raso, a former Navy SEAL, fixed the flag's loose end at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront's Navy SEAL Monument Thursday morning.

In a Facebook post Thursday, Raso said it took four attempts to make it up the pole before being able to fasten the loose end of the flag back in place.

Note: There is language at the end of the video that may not be suitable for some. Viewer discretion is advised.

"I couldn’t go by this flag this morning and not give it everything I had," Raso wrote. "The gold stars on this monument and the sacrifice that has been made for all us was something I wasn’t just going to pass by."

By Sunday afternoon, the video had been shared more than 40,000 times on Facebook.
