WASHINGTON — Lead singer of the Foo Fighters Dave Grohl revealed that he has recently fathered a daughter outside of his marriage.
Grohl shared the announcement on Instagram Tuesday, where he has 1.4 million followers.
"I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage," the rock singer said on Instagram. "I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her."
"I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness," the statement continued. "We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together."
The 55-year-old musician has been married to Jordyn Blum for 21 years. The former Nirvana drummer shares three children with his longtime wife: Violet, 18, Ophelia, 10, and Harper, 15.
Grohl, who is rather private about his personal life, tied the knot with Blum in 2003.
Before Grohl became the frontman for the Foo Fighters, he was the main drummer for Nirvana from 1990 until lead singer Kurt Cobain's death in 1994.
