Marion Police say they have arrested two people in connection with a woman's murder.

Investigators say Shelly Shockey was reported missing Monday evening by a friend.

Officers responded to her home on Pennsylvania Avenue where they found Shockey's body hidden in the basement.

Police came to Shockey's home after a friend filed a missing person report. She told police David Shockey told her that his wife left with another man.

Detectives say David acted suspicious when confronted about the story, and police requested a search of the home.

That's when police say they found Shelly Shockey's body in the basement. Detectives say the body was buried under boxes and clothes.

Investigators later determined that she had been killed with a knife.

"They were nice people. He was nice. She was nice. He shoveled all the snow on all the sidewalks, “said neighbor Dan Donaugh.

Police say the motive behind the crime was David Shockey's desire to be with 19-year old girlfriend.

He is charged with Aggravated Murder. Danielle Crokie, 19, was also arrested and is being charged with Tampering with Evidence.

Detectives say she helped conceal the victim's body and clean the murder scene.

Those who knew the couples are surprised. They say it appeared the couple was in love.

Shelly Shockey's mini-van has a sign with her marriage date on her mini-van window.

"It's a shame, says Donaugh.

Shelly was a mother of an adult daughter and a 4-year old son, who goes to pre-school across the street from the home.

Shelly worked at Whirlpool. The company released the following statement: "Whirlpool is cooperating fully with law enforcement on this ongoing investigation. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time."

Police say to help cover up the crime, Shockey created a fake Facebook post on his wife's personal site to make it look like she was alive, then went to his son's school with his alleged
accomplice  to inform school officials that Shelly would not be picking up their child, according to a police report obtained by 10TV.

The report says that during the course of the investigation, Shockey told police that if they gave him a cigarette - he would tell them everything.

Shockey and Crokie were arraigned Friday morning.

He was given a $2 million bail, and she was handed a $1 million bail. Both remain in jail.
