The Mansfield Correctional Institution was on lockdown because of a hostage situation Sunday.
The incident where an inmate held an employee hostage began at about 10:30 a.m. It ended peacefully at about 9 p.m.
The facility is secure.
A spokesperson for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections tells 10TV the incident is actively under investigation.
