A jury deliberated for less than five hours Tuesday before convicting a man on 14 chargesstemming from his wife's slaying.
David Evans hired a hitman to strangle his wife, Carol Evans, in March 2008.
Carol Evans, 72, was a longtime teacher and principal in Jackson County.

Jackson County Common Pleas Court Judge Leonard Holzapfel sentenced David Evans, 74, to 35 yearsto life in prison.
Three other people have been convicted in the case, including Terry Vance, who was sentenced to18 years in prison for strangling Carol Evans.
