Man Shot In Eye With Paintball Gun

A man has lost vision in one eye after being shot with a paintball gun in southeast Columbus.

A man has lost vision in one eye after being shot with a paintball gun in southeast Columbus.

Morris McCarty, 72, tells Columbus Police he was riding his bike in the area of East Whittier Street and South Champion Avenue in southeast Columbus, when a passenger in a light-colored, four-door car fired the paint gun.

When officers arrived they found McCarty bleeding from his eye. He was taken to Grant Medical Center where he was treated for 100% loss of vision in that eye.

A 20-year-old Thomas Woodruff was arrested in connection to the crime. He is charged with felonious assault.
