Man Expected To Admit Role In 3 Slayings

A Columbus man charged in connection with the disappearance and death of a woman in 2004 isexpected to plead guilty to her slaying and last year's deaths of his mother and her boyfriend,10TV News reported.

Robert P. MacMichael's attorney, Scott J. Weisman, told 10TV's Maureen Kocot that MacMichaelwould plead guilty to aggravated murder.

MacMichael was dating Ashley Howley at the time of her disappearance four years ago, 10TV Newsreported.

Howley, 20, filed a report on June 16, 2004, claiming that MacMichael had assaulted her. She disappeared the same day.

Howley's remains were found on April 4 off Edgecliff Road, near state Route 315, on the city'snorth side.

MacMichael was charged earlier this year with the slaying of his mother and her boyfriend. Thecouple was found murdered in their home the day after Christmas.

MacMichael’s lawyer said his client is prepared to face a judge next week. In exchangeMacMichael will not risk facing the death penalty, Kocot reported.

The terms of the plea are tentative until there is a hearing in front of a judge.
