A man was pronounced dead after being shot in northeast Columbus on Sunday.
Columbus police said the shooting happened near the intersection of E. 12th Ave. and Nightfall Circle at about 3:30 p.m., 10TV's Ashleigh Barry reported.
Police believe the shooting happened when Travis Martin, 22, was robbed. He was found inside a green vehicle and was rushed to Grant Medical Center where he later died.
Nearly the entire apartment complex was secured with police tape after officers discovered two crime scenes, one where the victim was shot and another where he was found bleeding from the neck, Barry reported.
Officers were scene searching for the gunman.
"It's scary, it's scary. I'm just thinking of another young male being taken from society," neighbor Ricktoria Caldwell said. "'I'm scared to sleep in my house at all. This is just a nightmare just even trying to get rest here."
Stan Brockman, who has lived in the quiet south Linden neighborhood for years, said news of a fatal robbery with no suspect has everyone on guard.
"It's just shocking," Brockman said. "Took everybody by storm."
Columbus police are still searching for the gunman.
