Man Charged With Shooting Sister-In-Law Arrested Inside Motel

Police announced on Thursday that they arrested a man who was charged with shooting hissister-in-law at a Walmart parking lot.

Gregory McCaulsky was arrested at a Howard Johnson motel in Cincinnati, according to Newarkpolice.

Newark police detectives, FBI agents, deputy U.S. marshals and Cincinnati police assisted in hisarrest.

McCaulsky was charged with attempted murder in the Oct. 19 shooting at the Walmart store at 1315N. 21st St. in Newark.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in the area.  The dispatched officer thenfound Nitaleen McCaulsky, 21, in a car suffering from a gunshot wound.

Gregory McCaulsky was scheduled to be returned to Newark and be arraigned on Friday, policesaid.

On Wednesday, police arrested Ashley Ortman at her Outville Road home and charged her withobstruction of justice.  Police said that Ortman, 23, provided assistance to Gregory McCaulskyafter the shooting.
