$1 million scratch-off ticket sold at northeast Ohio grocery store

CLEVELAND — A winning scratch-off ticket worth $1 million was recently hit in Mahoning County as the Ohio Lottery says the big winner was sold at the Giant Eagle grocery store at 1201 Doral Drive in Boardman.

Ohio Lottery officials say the winning ticket was in the Cash is King game, which is a $20 scratch-off.

The winner, who was not identified, chose the cash option of $500,000.

“After mandatory state and federal tax totaling 28 percent, the winner will receive approximately $360,000,” according to the Ohio Lottery.

  • $40,000 a year for 25 years ($1 million): 2 prizes remaining
  • $10,000 prize: 4 remaining
  • $1,000 prize: 30 remaining
