COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus steak house that's been in business for nearly 60 years is now under new ownership.
York Steak House, located on West Broad Street, was acquired by the owner of Starliner Diner, a Hilliard hotspot that's known for its colorful interior and award-winning breakfast.
In a Facebook post, Starliner Diner reassured their customers that the acquisition won't hurt the diner and they remain committed to serving the dishes customers love. They emphasized that Starliner and York Steak House "will both stay open and run the way they have for decades."
They added that they have been looking to add something to Starliner that will help with night sales, as 90% of their sales are before 3 p.m.
Starliner is looking for feedback from its customers about offering York Steak House food at the diner from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
York Steak House was a chain of restaurants dating back to 1966, expanding to nearly 180 locations by 1976. Most York restaurants have been discontinued or sold over the years, with the Columbus location being the last one remaining.
