COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman is seriously injured following a crash in Union County early Sunday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 12:05 a.m. on U.S. Route 33, east of Honda Parkway, near Marysville.

Troopers say a 28-year-old woman driving a Honda Civic was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when she failed to maintain a clear distance ahead. The driver struck a Hyundai Elantra traveling ahead of her.

The woman was flown to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with serious injuries. The other driver was not injured in the crash.

OSHP says alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash.
