Columbus police: Woman seriously injured after being shot in neck during argument

The victim told officers that she was arguing with her boyfriend when he reportedly shot her.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman is seriously hurt after she was shot during an argument at a University District home Saturday morning, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called to the 1700 block of North Fourth Street around 10:45 a.m. on a report of a possible shooting. When they arrived, they found a woman who was shot in the neck.

The victim told officers that she was arguing with her boyfriend when he reportedly shot her. 

She was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and a handgun was recovered from his possession.

The incident remains under investigation.
