COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police identified a victim who was shot and killed on the city’s northeast side early Sunday morning as an 18-year-old woman.
Officers were called to the 2600 block of Woodsedge Road, just off Westerville Road, around 12:35 a.m. on reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Da’Mya Cummerlander suffering from a gunshot wound.
Cummerlander was pronounced dead just before 12:45 a.m., police say.
Her family told 10TV that she was at a graduation party when she was shot. Cummerlander is a 2023 New Albany High School graduate.
It is unclear what led up to the shooting. No suspect information is available at this time.
The shooting remains under investigation.
