COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in east Columbus early Sunday morning, according to the Whitehall Division of Police.
Police said around 2 a.m., a Ford sedan was traveling northbound on Shady Lane Road when the vehicle went off the road to the right and hit a tree, causing the vehicle to catch on fire.
The woman was pronounced dead at 2:51 a.m.
Shady Lane Road was closed between McAllister Avenue and East Main Street for three hours while authorities investigated. The road has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
