COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman was found dead after a reported domestic violence incident in northeast Columbus Thursday morning, police say.
Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called just before 9:20 a.m. to York Terrace North, an apartment complex south of East Dublin Granville Road, on a report of a domestic violence incident.
Arriving officers found 32-year-old Mariama Bah unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene by medics at 9:37 a.m.
Hassana Jalloh, 55, has been arrested and charged with aggravated murder in Bah's death.
According to Franklin County Municipal Court records, Jalloh used a hammer to repeatedly strike Bah on her face and head. He told police that he used a knife as well.
Jalloh reportedly called 911 and told the dispatcher that he killed his wife and that she had assaulted him the day before.
Records state that he made several spontaneous comments about killing Bah that were recorded on police bodycam stating that he waited until the children were at school to kill her.
