Homicide unit investigating after woman found dead in southwest Columbus

It’s still unclear what led up to her death. No suspect information has been released.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police are investigating after finding a woman dead on the city's southwest side Monday afternoon.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the 2000 block of Harrisburg Pike at 1:03 p.m. for a welfare check. When they arrived at the scene alongside Columbus Division of Fire personnel, they forced entry into a property and found 39-year-old Kylene Young unresponsive.

She was pronounced dead by medics at 1:05 p.m.

According to police, the death is being investigated as a homicide.

It’s still unclear what led up to her death. No suspect information has been released.
