COLUMBUS, Ohio — Firefighters were first called to the scene of a fire alarm at an industrial building in the 300 block of Centab Drive in east Columbus around 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Soon after, firefighters deemed it necessary to exit the building and fight the fire from the outside as more firefighters were called to the scene.
People living nearby stood and watched the fire for most of the night.
Natasha Glover lives near the scene and told 10TV, “I heard the first boom and my boyfriend just kind of grabbed me. We didn’t know what was going on. The first thing we thought was get to safety right away.”
“We saw the outer parts of the building collapsing. You could hear the ruckus and everything coming down from the fire. It was really a sight to see. I had never seen a fire that bad before in real life.”
As of 10:30 p.m. Friday, there were no reports of injuries as the fire continued to burn.
