At least 12,000 runners, walkers take part in Ohio State's 4 Miler; winners announced

The race is the largest four-mile running and walking event in the country and offers Buckeye fans the chance to “Finish on the 50."

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s annual 4 Miler wrapped up Sunday afternoon, a day after the team’s spring game.

Runners cooled off at Ohio Stadium and received the Official Finisher's Medal as the 4 Miler came to a close. Those who took part in the race also received an official T-shirt and a complimentary ticket to the spring game.

Zach Boren, a former fullback at Ohio State, said that he's done the race every year.

"It's one of my favorite events of the year. To be able to go through campus and see some of the places I used to walk through and go to and then be able to finish off at the greatest stadium in the country - it's one of the best events," Boren said.

Boren also commented on the outlook of this year's team after watching the spring game.

"Super excited for this team. If they come together and put things together, this team is going to be really really special and I know Coach Day and the rest of the football staff over there are going to do everything they possibly can to make this a special year," he said.

The top three spots went to Jonathan Allen of Columbus, Chase Hampton of Marysville and Chris Fields of Dublin.

Allen, who also took the top spot in 2023, finished the race with a time of 19:11. Hampton followed behind with a time of 19:54 and Fields placed third at 20:09.

The race is the largest four-mile running and walking event in the country and offers Buckeye fans the chance to “Finish on the 50."

The Brutus Bolt Kids Race took place right after the 4 Miler and allowed younger runners the chance to walk or run with their parents.

Following a morning full of exercise, participants could visit the northeast side of the stadium for the free race day tailgate party where there were vendor booths music and other activities.

Winners of the race have not yet been named. 10TV will add them as soon as they are announced.
