The grand jury has indicted a Westerville man on rape and murder charges in the stabbing death of his wife.

James Gentile is accused of killing his wife, Dana Gentile, at their home on Carousel Court in Westerville on June 4.

“This is a case of domestic violence where this man raped and killed his wife who had separated from him,” Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said.

Following the murder, O’Brien said a neighbor called 911 after James said he killed his wife.

Gentile then left the scene and was stopped by police en route to the home.
