Police: 1 seriously hurt in west Columbus hit-and-run

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pedestrian is seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on the city's west side Saturday night, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Police said a pedestrian was walking on Sullivant Avenue near South Grener Avenue just after 11 p.m. when an unknown vehicle approached the pedestrian's location and struck them.

The vehicle did not stop, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to Grant Medical Center in serious condition, where police say they are expected to survive their injuries.

A description of the vehicle involved in the crash was not immediately provided. The crash remains under investigation.
