COLUMBUS, Ohio — Weenie Wonder announced on its website that it has permanently closed its restaurants.

The business closed both locations at Bridge Park in Dublin and Easton Town Center in northeast Columbus on Feb. 6.

Rise Brands, Weenie Wonder's brand development firm, said that the decision to close both restaurants is part of a strategic realignment to focus resources on the rapid growth of other brands within the firm's portfolio.

“We hold ourselves and our brands to a very high standard to deliver exceptional guest experiences.  Even though we strongly believe in the Weenie Wonder brand, unfortunately, the economic model was not sustainable and the brand failed to meet our standards,” expressed Troy Allen, CEO of Rise Brands. “We sincerely thank every team member, partner and customer who has been a part of the Weenie Wonder story. We are very grateful for the support we received when we opened this brand.  It’s a difficult decision, but we are confident it is the right one for Rise.”

Weenie Wonder thanked all its guests for their support.

“We will relish the memories and we’re excited to share what’s next,” the restaurant said in a statement.

The restaurant said if customers have a gift card, they can use it at any Pins Mechanical Co. location and the value will be doubled.

Rise Brands created Weenie Wonder as its first casual restaurant brand. Inspired by the founder’s childhood, the restaurant was described as a casual spot that served specialty hot dogs, tater tots and milkshakes.

The first restaurant opened at Bridge Park in 2022 and the second location opened at Easton in 2023. Both locations were adjacent to Pins Mechanical Co.

The firm plans to bring something new to the soon-to-be-vacated Weenie Wonder spaces.
