UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio — The City of Upper Arlington on Thursday announced the appointment of its new police chief.
Keith Hall will officially start the position on April 8. He is succeeding Steve Farmer, who retired as police chief in February after 24 years of law enforcement experience and five years with the Upper Arlington Police Division.
Hall has been with the Upper Arlington police department for more than two decades. He served in several roles, such as patrol officer, detective, patrol sergeant, detective sergeant and lieutenant over criminal investigations and support services.
City officials say Hall’s appointment followed a nationwide search process that was conducted by an Illinois-based firm, GovHR USA. The search attracted candidates from 12 states and finalists participated in interviews with city staff.
“With his extensive experience, dedication, and vision for the future of law enforcement in Upper Arlington, I am confident Chief Hall will lead our Police Division with integrity and distinction,” said City Manager Steve Schoeny. “His vision for the department aligns with our commitment to community-focused policing and continuous improvement. We look forward to working closely with Chief Hall as we strive to make Upper Arlington a safer and more inclusive place for all residents."
