UNION COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — A man is dead after a crash in Union County Tuesday night.
At 9:20 p.m., the Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a serious crash on Raymond Road, north of Barker Road.
Crews from the Marysville and Allen Township fire departments arrived at the location and found a 2006 GMC Acadia with serious damage to the front of the vehicle.
Investigators determined that the driver lost control of the vehicle and drove off the right side of the road. The Acadia struck a guardrail and a traffic sign and came to a rest on the bank of a creek.
The sheriff’s office said the driver, identified as 56-year-old Gary Jackson, suffered serious injuries from the crash and was partially entrapped inside the vehicle. Jackson was transported by Medflight to Grant Medical Center where he later died.
Investigators determined that Jackson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. There was no one else inside the vehicle.
The incident remains under investigation.
