COLUMBUS, Ohio – Global sports entertainment company Topgolf is opening its first location in Columbus next year.
The Dallas-based golfing and entertainment center is starting work at 2000 Ikea Way in the Polaris area next to IKEA.
The sports chain will be 12 acres and is expected to hold a maximum occupancy of 1,000 people. It will have a multi-level driving range and include a restaurant and bar.
Building permits for the site linking it to Topgolf have been filed with the city of Columbus and Polaris developer NP Ltd. confirmed the project.
Topgolf is expected to open next summer, according to NP Managing Director Franz Geiger.
The property taxes will go to Delaware County.
Topgolf International Inc. has 36 venues worldwide, according to the company.
