COLUMBUS, Ohio — After 45 years in business, Tommy's Pizza's Ohio State campus location will be closing its doors for good.
The pizzeria announced that they will be closing their campus location, located at 174 West Lane Ave., on June 14.
Their other two locations in Upper Arlington and Dublin will remain open.
In a message posted on its website, the company says, "It has been a pleasure serving multiple generations of families and students alike."
They went on to thank central Ohio for the support over the years.
The founder of Tommy's Pizza, Thomas Iacono, opened his first restaurant in Columbus on Fifth Avenue near Cassidy Avenue in 1952. At first, they were known as "Tommy's Restaurant," but changed the name once the pizza business began to take off.
Tommy's Ohio State campus location opened in the late 1970's. They are the second oldest pizza restaurant in the city.
