Teenager killed in Coshocton house fire

COSHOCTON, Ohio - A teenager is dead after a fire in Coshocton Thursday night, according to the Coshocton Fire Department.

The department said firefighters responded to a house fire in the 400 block of South 10th Street just before 6:30 p.m.

Firefighters found 15-year-old Trade Stevens on the second floor while they were searching the home. He was taken to Coshocton County Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to the fire department

The Coshocton Tribune reports the Coshocton County coroner determined Stevens died of accidental smoke inhalation.

Stevens was a River View High School student, according to the newspaper.

The Tribune reports the fire is not believed to be suspicious.

A firefighter with the Coshocton Fire Department was treated for a leg injury.
