COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 27-year-old man who barricaded himself inside the restrooms at Tanger Outlets in Delaware County last September was sentenced to four years in prison.
The Delaware County Sheriff's Office says Brian Ford II pleaded guilty to domestic violence, weapons under disability and violating a protection order on March 27.
The sentencing on Friday comes months after an incident where the outlet mall was put on lockdown and evacuated due to a domestic dispute between a man and a woman.
Ford reportedly fought in the parking lot with the woman before barricading himself inside a men’s restroom for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, according to the sheriff’s office. He hid a loaded firearm in the drop ceiling of the bathroom.
Ford eventually surrendered and was arrested by authorities with no injuries or threats to anyone at the mall.
The woman reportedly involved in the domestic incident was safe.
