Records: Suspect admits to shooting, killing man in 'road rage' incident on I-670

According to the Columbus Division of Police, Tony Brock is charged with the murder of 52-year-old Bret Bennett.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a deadly “road rage” shooting that happened on Interstate 670 near downtown Columbus on Friday.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, Tony Brock is charged with the murder of 52-year-old Bret Bennett.

The shooting took place on I-670 East at North 4th Street just after 5 p.m. Bennett was taken to Grant Medical Center where he later died, police said.

The suspect vehicle, a black Ford F-150, fled the scene following the shooting but was located on Saturday. According to Franklin County Municipal Court documents, while locating the truck, Brock, through his attorney, contacted detectives and admitted that he was the person who fired the handgun and killed Bennett.

Police said Brock is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail.
