Survival Flight, an emergency medical transport company, is closing its bases in Ohio.
The company said its bases in Circleville and Marion were not only the furthest from its headquarters in Arkansas but also the hardest hit economically due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"This isn’t a move we take lightly, but it must be done to protect our company and the hundreds of employees at our 16 other bases across the southern United States. We value our Ohio employees and are offering them all an opportunity to transfer to others bases in the company," spokesperson Ryan Stubenrauch.
Stubenrauch.said about one dozen employees are impacted.
Survival Flight was the operator of a helicopter that crashed in Vinton County in January 2019. Three people on board the helicopter died in the crash.
