Sheriff: Student hit by car after getting off school bus in Fayette County

A truck driving in the opposite direction failed to stop, hitting another car and pushing that car into a student.

FAYETTE COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — A student getting off a school bus Friday afternoon was injured after getting hit by a car, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said the bus was stopped in the 8000 block of Route 62, located just outside of Washington Court House, while students were getting off.  

A truck driving in the opposite direction failed to stop, hitting another car and pushing that car into a student.

The student and the driver of the car were flown to a Columbus-area trauma center to be treated for their injuries.

The student and driver's conditions are unknown at this time.

There is no impairment suspected for the driver of the truck.
