WORTHINGTON, Ohio - A student at Worthington Kilbourne High School was taken into custody on Tuesday because he had an unloaded handgun and ammunition on campus, according to the Worthington school district.
In a letter to parents, the district said high school staff members were made aware of a post on social media about a student and a handgun that appeared to have been taken at Worthington Kilbourne High School.
The student was located and taken into custody by Columbus police.
Police said the 18-year-old student was taken to police headquarters to be interviewed after a school resource officer found the gun in the student's backpack.
The district said it does not have evidence of any threats.
Domonic Keaton is facing a felony gun charge in the case according to court records.
Keaton admitted to carrying the gun to school for two days, according to court records.
