COLUMBUS, Ohio — A portion of state Route 315 just west of downtown Columbus is closed in both directions until Sunday evening due to the testing of the Franklinton floodwall.
State Route 315 is closed between Goodale Street and the Interstate 70/71 split. The closure began at 6 a.m. on Sunday and is expected to wrap up at 6 p.m.
The testing was planned and is being administered by the City of Columbus to test the floodgate.
If you’re driving in the area and looking for a detour, you can take one of the two following ways to get around the closure:
- Northbound Detour: I-71 northbound to I-70 eastbound to I-670 westbound to SR 315
- Southbound Detour: I-670 eastbound to I-71 southbound to I-70 westbound to I-71 southbound
Once every three years, federal safety regulations require that the six gates extending along the Scioto River between I-670 and Frank Road are tested.
