Motorcyclist seriously injured in South Linden hit-and-run

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a crash at East 26th and Hamilton avenues shortly after 5:20 p.m.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A motorcyclist was seriously injured during a hit-and-run in northeast Columbus Saturday evening, police said.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a crash at East 26th and Hamilton avenues, located in South Linden, shortly after 5:20 p.m.

Police said a motorcyclist was driving south on Hamilton Avenue when a white sedan with tinted windows ran a stop sign while traveling west on East 26th Avenue. This caused the motorcyclist to hit the passenger side of the sedan.

The impact ejected the motorcyclist from the bike and the sedan fled the area.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
