Suspect in west Columbus homicide indicted on murder charges

Police said William Jones II was indicted on two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault in Dahlin's death.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A suspect was indicted on multiple felony charges in connection to the death of a 32-year-old man in west Columbus in August.

On Aug. 16, officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the 100 block of South Cypress Avenue, located in Franklinton, around 2 p.m. on a report of a suspicious death.

Upon arrival, police said they found a deceased man who had suffered multiple injuries. The man was identified as Justin Dahlin.

In an update Wednesday, police said 47-year-old William Jones II was indicted on two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault in Dahlin's death.

According to Jones' indictment, he is alleged to have used a knife in Dahlin's death.

The investigation into Dahlin’s death is ongoing.
