Police searching for pickup truck that struck bicyclist in south Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A bicyclist was seriously hurt after they were struck by a pickup truck in south Columbus on Friday, police said.

Just after 3 a.m., police said an adult was riding a bicycle heading south on South High Street at Fornof Road. Meanwhile, a Toyota Tacoma was also heading south on South High Street when it struck the back of the bicycle.

Police say the bicyclist was thrown to the ground because of the impact and hit their head. The Tacoma left the scene of the crash, but its left front bumper and passenger mirror were left behind.

The bicyclist was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.
