When the once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse event happens on August 21, some cities will see less of the sun than others.
In Ohio, cities near Lake Erie will see more of the sun than cities along the Ohio River, according to this map, made by shadowandsubstance.com.
In Columbus, the moon will cover 86.5-percent of the sun at the peak of the eclipse. Down south, Cincinnati will see 91.3-percent of the sun covered.
The next best cities are Portsmouth with about 90.5 percent coverage and Ironton with 90.3 percent. By contrast, there will only be about 80-percent coverage in Cleveland.
