Sneak peek at renovations inside Columbus' iconic Leveque Tower

When complete, the 555-foot tower will house apartments, condominiums, a hotel and residential and office space.

10TV got a firsthand look at the renovations going on inside the Leveque Tower.

When complete, the 555-foot tower will house apartments, condominiums, a hotel and residential and office space.

When the tower first opened in 1927 it was the world headquarters for the American Insurance Union and it was called 'The Citadel'. The LeVeque family bought the building in 1945 when it was renamed.

Hotel Leveque will have 150 rooms across five floors and it will be part of Mariott's upscale 'Autograph collection'. A penthouse condominium will sit on the top floor.

The LeVeque was the tallest building in Columbus for nearly 50 years. Developers have maintained many of building's art deco finishes.

Renovations are expected to be wrapped up in 2017.
