You can use the moon to help you find the Red Planet this week. It’ll pass by Mars on Sunday and Monday night. If skies cooperate, Mars will be easy to find. Look for what appears to be a star with a reddish hue. Above is how you’ll find the pair on Monday night. Also, if you have a telescope, you can find Uranus. It’ll be just above and left of Mars.

The moon will wax to gibbous phase later in the week and pass through a famous asterism in the Northern Hemisphere. The Winter Circle is a pattern of stars that will take up much of the evening sky. Inside of it will be our satellite on Thursday and Friday. Above is how things will look on Friday night. Happy hunting!
