COLUMBUS, Ohio — The City of Columbus is expanding rideshare pickup zones in the Short North Arts District.
Starting Thursday, there will be 15 locations that will be designated for rideshare services to pick up customers. The locations will be on High Street between Goodale Street and 5th Avenue. You can view the map by clicking here.
The zones will be marked off by Late Night Rideshare Pick Up and Drop Off signage and will temporarily operate at COTA bus stop locations that are not currently in use by buses during those hours.
Additionally, the hours will run from midnight to 4 a.m. The city extended the hours from 3 a.m. because of popular activity in the area.
The program first launched in July 2022 to help manage rideshare activity, parking and traffic flow during the late-night hours. It was part of a partnership with the city, Short North Alliance, COTA, Lyft and Uber.
Those who are using rideshare services while visiting the Short North will be directed by the service’s app to the nearest pickup zone. The rideshare driver will be notified a customer is waiting in that zone for a ride.
