COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person was found shot inside a crashed vehicle at a police substation in north Columbus Thursday morning.
The incident happened around 5:40 a.m. in the 200 block of East 11th Avenue between Summit and North 4th streets. A Columbus police dispatcher told 10TV that officers were unloading gear for the night when they heard a noise behind the substation. Officers went to check it out and found the shooting victim inside a vehicle that crashed outside the substation.
The dispatcher told 10TV that the victim was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in critical condition. The dispatcher added that the shooting did not involve officers.
Police said the shooting appears to be self-inflicted.
