COSHOCTON COUNTY, Ohio — A body found Sunday has been identified as a man missing from Knox County, according to authorities.
The Coschocton County Sheriff's Office says they received a 911 transfer from Licking County just before noon Sunday. A man said he found a decomposed body on his property on Perry Township Road 380.
After an investigation with detectives and the Coshocton County Coroner, the sheriff's office confirmed the deceased man was Ernest Baker, who had gone missing from Knox County in September.
According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, witnesses in the area of McCament Road and Totten Road on Sept. 20 said the 54-year-old had gone missing when he was separated from his group in a wooded area. Initial searches were unsuccessful.
The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office and the Knox County Sheriff's Office will continue working on the case.
