Wrong-way driver involved in US 33 head-on crash (UPDATE)

Authorities say they had received reports of a wrong way driver just before a two-vehicle crash in Union County Monday.

The incident happened just before noon on US 33 and US 36 near Marysville.

Marysville Police said they were contacted about a car driving eastbound in the westbound lanes around 11:48 a.m. Within a few minutes, they were called about a crash nearby.

A 2005 Honda Civic was traveling the wrong way and struck a 2011 Acura MDX head-on, according to Marysville Police.

The driver of the Acura, 27-year-old Sarah Snapp, was taken to Memorial Health. The driver of the Honda, 24-year-old Miranda Wessa, was airlifted to Grant Medical Center.

The condition of either driver is not known at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
