A second woman has been charged in relation to a body discovered in south Columbus along Big Run Road on May 31.

Kristen Mays is accused of brushing the teeth and wiping the body of Jacqueline Powers in an attempt to hide evidence, according to Franklin County Municipal Court records.

Those records also show Mays admitted to placing Powers' body into a closet for about two hours and did not call for medical assistance.

Mays helped place Powers' body into a vehicle with the intention of getting rid of the body, according to court records.

Court records show she then left the vehicle when the vehicle stopped at gas station and Powers was left on the side of the road.

Erica Escuadra is accused of putting Power's body on the side of the road, where the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said it was found under a blanket.

Both Mays and Escuadra are at the Franklin County Jail.

Both are charged with tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
