The Ohio Department of Natural Resources confirms one search boat briefly capsized Tuesday in the search for a missing kayaker.

According to the Genoa Township Fire Department, their boat capsized after a wave washed over the bow.

All firefighters were wearing life vest and made it to shore safely. Crews were also able to retrieve the boat.

Authorities were back at the lake searching after kayaker was reported missing Monday night.

Sgt. Andrew Foos with ODNR said two kayakers, one male and one female, were out in the water when the woman's kayak began to capsize trying to get to the shore.

The man tried to help her when he was pulled under and never resurfaced. The woman was able to make it to the shore.

Sgt. Foos said neither kayaker were wearing life jackets.
