COLUMBUS, Ohio — A mother and a child were flown to a hospital after a crash on U.S. Route 62 North involving a school bus Monday afternoon, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
A school bus was dropping off children when a Dodge Durango hit the back of the bus between the Bloomingburg and New Holland Road intersection.
No one on the school bus was reportedly injured in the crash, however, a mother and a child in the Dodge were taken to Columbus hospitals with injuries.
According to the sheriff's office, the child has minor injuries and was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital and the mother has severe facial injuries.
The Bloomingburg and New Holland Road intersection between route 62 North is closed due to the crash. Drivers are asked to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.
