FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio — The scene is clear at a Meijer in Canal Winchester after deputies did not find a bomb that an attempted robbery suspect claimed to have planted Thursday, according to authorities.
Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office deputies searched the Meijer store on Meijer Drive after an attempted robbery suspect claimed to have put a bomb in a trash can, according to Sheriff Dave Phalen.
Phalen said an individual walked into the store Thursday afternoon and told a cashier the bomb would be detonated if a certain amount of money was not handed over.
The sheriff's office said a suspect was arrested and charges are pending.
Shoppers told 10TV they were evacuated earlier.
