WHITEHALL, Ohio — A 39-year-old man was arrested in Whitehall for allegedly raping at least two children under the age of 13.
The Whitehall Division of Police is concerned that Saul Mora had access to kids at a daycare and that there could be more victims.
“It's sickening, it is absolutely sickening,” said police assistant chief Dan Kelso.
According to court documents, Mora is accused of raping a 5-year-old and an 8-year-old in 2018. Kelso said Mora is not a legal immigrant and has been deported before.
“He is accused of molesting a couple girls at this point in time. We have a couple victims after that that we are still interviewing. We believe there is a minimum of four victims in this case and we expect there could be more,” Kelso explained.
Kelso said at the time of the allegations, Mora's then-wife ran a daycare in the couple's home. The four children who have come forward were not a part of the daycare but were known to Mora. The couple have since divorced and moved.
“We do have concerns since he was around that daycare, he was present during the time the children were being taken care of that there could be more victims that we are unaware of,” Kelso said.
Kelso said the families who used the daycare would know Mora, and if any of those parents have concerns about their children, they need to come forward.
“We want to get the word out at this point in time, that if you know this man and your children had contact with this man, do not ignore it and do some investigating and get a hold of us so we can help you,” Kelso said.
Whitehall police expect more charges will be filed soon.
